Rachel wanted to make something for her two co-op teachers for Christmas and decided to try something new...decoupage. A friend had emailed me this link for decoupaged notebooks. They looked fun and seemed easy enough for kids.
Using some beautiful paper by Heather Bailey, Rachel got to work. (OK, I helped her a little.) It was simple and not too time consuming.
You could cover the entire book or...
Leave the black spine. It looks great with this green paper.
There are three other girls in Rachel's class for whom she wanted to make gifts. She picked out some fun fabrics that I bought from my friend Jona's fabric store, Fabritopia, and made warming bags. They were a huge hit.
She had the idea to close it up with a cute decorative stitch. I think it turned out great.
That inspired me to make some fun homemade gifts too. More on those later.
WOW!!! What great ideas! And everything turned out so beautifully, too. You've inspired me!
